Card Emergency & Dispute Hub

Block first. Record everything. Escalate through official channels.

This page organises the steps for a lost card, suspected fraud, a failed merchant resolution or an issuer complaint. Accurate Paisa does not collect the transaction, card number, OTP, statement or evidence.

01 · Now

Use the issuer app or number on the card

Temporarily lock the card if available. If it is lost, stolen or fraud is suspected, permanently block it and obtain the service-request reference. A temporary lock may not stop every recurring or tokenised transaction.

02 · Same sitting

Report unauthorised transactions

Raise a separate transaction dispute with the issuer. Record the time, channel, complaint number, disputed amount and the response. Preserve alerts and merchant correspondence without sharing them with Accurate Paisa.

03 · Financial cyber fraud

Call 1930 and use cybercrime.gov.in

For suspected financial cyber fraud, contact the national helpline quickly and complete the report through the official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Follow any police or issuer documentation instructions.

04 · Unresolved complaint

Use the issuer grievance path, then RBI CMS

First complete the card issuer’s grievance process. If eligible and unresolved, use the official RBI Complaint Management System. Do not pay a third party to file an RBI Ombudsman complaint.

Issuer directory

Start with your exact issuer

For major issuers, the button opens a verified security or lost-card help page. For other issuers, it opens an official card source as a safe starting point; use the issuer’s authenticated app or the contact printed on your physical card or statement for immediate blocking.

Dispute file

Keep a private incident timeline

Write down when you noticed the incident, when the card was blocked, each transaction date and amount, the issuer complaint number, merchant contact and every escalation. Keep screenshots, alerts and letters in your own secure storage. Do not send a PIN, CVV, password or OTP—even to someone claiming to resolve the complaint.

A merchant dispute, unauthorised transaction report, lost-card report and cybercrime report are not automatically the same process. Complete every channel the issuer requires and ask which documents and deadlines apply to your case.

Liability timing

Fast reporting can matter

RBI’s customer-liability framework distinguishes circumstances and reporting time for unauthorised electronic banking transactions. It is not safe to assume every loss has zero liability. Report promptly, preserve acknowledgement and read the current bank policy together with the RBI material linked below.

If a due date arrives during a dispute, ask the issuer in writing what must be paid and how finance charges will be handled. Do not ignore the full statement simply because one transaction is contested.
