Two different exchange rates
DCC is an INR offer, not a free conversion
Dynamic Currency Conversion lets an overseas merchant or ATM show an INR amount. The convenience can hide a less favourable conversion rate, and an additional service fee may apply. The alternative is to pay in the local currency and let the card network and issuer convert the transaction. That route can include a card forex markup plus GST on the markup.
Enter the number of rupees charged for one unit of foreign currency under each route. The difference between the network rate and DCC rate captures the spread directly, without pretending to know a live rate.
Reward caution
Do not assume the transaction earns points
Some cards exclude wallet, quasi-cash or DCC-coded transactions; others cap or reduce international rewards. Enter zero unless the exact card terms support a reward. A welcome offer, temporary promotion or milestone is not automatically included.
The final posted amount can still differ because the network conversion date may be later than the purchase date, refunds can use a different rate and cash withdrawals may add ATM or cash-advance fees. For an ATM, enter every disclosed extra fee or use the result only as a partial estimate.
